J.D. Pellecchia is a Tampa, Florida–based CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Certified Investment Management Analyst® professional, and Certified Kingdom Advisor™. He founded PFS Signature Wealth in 2006.
Prior to establishing the firm, J.D. served his country with honor for nine years in the United States Marine Corps as a Naval Aviator flying the EA-6B aircraft. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University and an International MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Building on the foundation of his education and experience as a 4th generation Marine Corps officer, J.D.’s background includes almost three decades of successful financial analysis and investment planning with Friedman Billings and Ramsey, Merrill Lynch, Private Bank at Bank of America, and PFS Signature Wealth. During this time, he met the rigorous education, examination, experience, and ethics requirements necessary to earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation. J.D. is also recognized as a Certified Kingdom Advisor™, distinguishing him as a committed Christian financial professional who has met high standards in training, integrity, character, and competence as an advisor, leader, and counselor.
As an avid advocate for many charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay area, J.D. currently serves as Chairman of the Board for The Salvation Army of Tampa. In this role he humbly oversees the execution of the organization’s mission, which served more than 60,000 people through meals, shelter, and rental and utility assistance in Hillsborough County. In addition, J.D. serves as First Priority of Tampa Bay Treasurer and is former Chairman of the Board. J.D. represents the sixth largest U.S. nonprofit, the National Christian Foundation, as a local Ambassador, lending expert guidance and creative giving solutions to help community members experience the joy of simplifying their giving and multiplying their impact. J.D. is active in his local church, South Tampa Fellowship, and has served on the Personnel Committee and as Chair of the Finance Committee.
The Florida State University College of Business recognized J.D. with the 2020 Accounting Alumni Achievement Award, selecting him based on his professional achievements, service and impact on his community, involvement in other philanthropic activities, and support of Florida State University. He is currently serving a 3-year term as a Professional Advisory Board Member for the FSU College of Business Accounting Department.
J.D. is an outdoor enthusiast, having completed the Marine Corps Marathon four times and distinguished himself as a top 20 finisher in the Hawaii Half-Ironman. He is the husband of Julie and father of two young adult children, Tye and Amelia.
